I’m asking you to help support my fundraising efforts with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will help make a difference in the lives of people with type 1 diabetes. Please Support Me in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes
A Trip to Remember
Update on Liza Valero.
to this in just a few months
.
It’s called “cancer” –
This has definitely been a trip to remember for Liza and our family and it isn’t over yet.
However, she had her last chemo treatment yesterday — Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She will start her radiation treatments in 3-4 weeks.
As soon as we can get her through this next week of pain, we are definitely going to celebrate —
Please learn from Liza and others — take care of yourself — you women, please have regular mammograms – –and if you should end up with cancer, please seriously consider a double mastectomy — it could save your life.
For some, it is hard to imagine your life changing so dramatically so fast. It’s called ”cancer”.
Lately, I have heard about so many friends who are being diagnosed with “cancer” — different types —
- Breast Cancer
- Lung Cancer
- Prostate Cancer
- Bone Cancer
- Colon Cancer
- Brain Tumor
All of these are cancers that our agent-owners have been diagnosed with just in the last few months.
The positive side of all this is –
- thank goodness treatment is so much better today — doctors can do so much more today.
- it makes you realize how important today is — spend time with your loved ones –
- it brings a family closer together

Dear God, please cure cancer today. I wear a bracelet 24-7 with this message — I cannot forget to say this prayer everyday. Please join me with this prayer.
Most Touching Letter
Today, I received a small package in the mail — I looked it over and thought “I didn’t order anything from this place” — the place is 1MillionCancerPrayers in MN.
I opened the envelope and 2 bracelets fell out — I’m thinking “where did these come from and why” — then I saw what I thought was a packing slip and when the paper came out, it was a letter.
A letter from Linsey Dolder – the letter started out
“Dear Liz,
My name is Linsey Dolder and I recently started 1MillionCancerPrayers.com in an effort to raise money to help find a cure for cancer. I have been following you on Twitter and reading your blog regularly. Obviously, cancer as affected your family and I am very sorry to hear about Liza,. She is in our thoughts and prayers.”
Then she stated later in the letter that she was sending 2 bracelets — one for Liza and
one for me — “in hopes that it gives you strength and inspires the people around you”. The bracelets are inscribed with “Dear God, please cure cancer today”.
This was one of the nicest things that has happened to me — an emotional thing — it has really touched me that a “social friend”, who I don’t really know, would do this —
Thank you, Linsey for making my day. May God bless you and your efforts to “cure cancer”.

Just Two More To Go
Update on Liza
Liza just finished a Chemo treatment today — she now only has 2 more Chemo treatments to go.

This chemical that she is getting now affects her joints — she is in a lot of pain because of it. Otherwise, she is not feeling that badly. Actually, after today, she will be able to take medicine for the joint pain, so she will be good.
She is really quite the trooper — so positive and upbeat. We are really proud of her.
Just 2 more and she is done —Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And then, we will face the radiation — Liza says that she is not worried about the radiation at all.
Thanks again to everyone who has included Liza in their prayers — prayer does work and her family all really appreciates them.
Flu Season
Oh, yes — flu season is here — if you don’t believe it, just ask someone at the Loadholt household. What is the flu? According to FLU F.A.C.T.S., “the flu, more scientifically known as influenza, is a highly contagious respiratory infection caused by influenza viruses. The influenza virus usually enters the body through mucus membranes in the mouth, nose or eyes. When a person with the flu coughs or sneezes, the virus then becomes airborne and can be inhaled by anyone nearby. You can also get the flu if you’ve touched a contaminated surface like a telephone or a door knob, and then touch your nose or mouth. Of course the risk of infection is greater in highly populated areas like schools, buses and crowded urban settings.”
Is It a Cold or the Flu?
The cold and flu are both respiratory illnesses, but they are caused by different types of viruses with different symptoms. Use this chart to learn the difference between the two. (Chart provided by FLU F.A.C.T.S.)
