Customer VS Client
A Client is someone that a real estate salesperson represents — owes certain duties to:
- Perform to the terms of the written agreement
- Obedience
- Loyalty
- Disclosure of all material facts relating to the property or the transaction
- Confidentiality
- Accounting for monies and paperwork
- Reasonable care and diligence
A Customer is someone that does not want to be represented –
Services a real estate salesperson must give to a customer:
- Present offers
- Account for money and property received
- Provide a meaningful explanation of agency relationships
- Provide an explanation of the scope of services to be provided
- Be fair and hones and provide accurate information in all dealings.
Services a real estate salesperson may give to a customer:
- Identify and show property
- Provide real estate statistics and information on property
- Provide pre-printed forms
- Act as a scribe in the preparation of forms
- Locate a list of outside service providers
- Identify schools, community amenities and other facilities
